Incoming Mobility: Requirements for Exchange at USS
You must be an enrolled student at your home university and have authorization from your International Relations Office to participate in an overseas exchange.
You must be in your fourth semester or have completed it at your home university.
Complete and submit your application via the Move On system (HERE).
A valid passport, with at least six months of validity after the exchange ends.
An official academic transcript from your home university.
Nomination letter signed and stamped by the International Relations Office of the home university.
A provisional study agreement signed by the relevant academic authority at your home university.
A passport-sized color photo with a white background.
An official Spanish certificate (B2 or higher), if applicable (B1 will be assessed case by case basis).
A portfolio (for Architecture and Design students).
Vaccination records (for health students and clinical practices):
COVID-19 (at least 4 doses).
Hepatitis B (full vaccination series; not newborn vaccine).
Influenza.
Documents required before arrival in Chile
International health insurance covering the entire stay in Chile, with at least:
Medical expenses of at least USD $30,000.
Explicit coverage for COVID-19.
Medical repatriation.
Civil liability (for health students participating in practical/clinical activities).
Flight tickets.
Application Steps
Visa Information
Transitory Stay Permit: For stays of under 180 days, this permit is required and obtained upon arrival at Santiago airport with International Police. It is valid for 90 days and can be renewed for an additional 90 days for a fee of USD 100. Certain nationalities may require a visa before arriving in Chile; please consult the official document for details. If you have a visa, be sure to present it when entering Chile to avoid migration issues.

International Health Insurance Requirements
The insurance must provide a minimum coverage of USD $30,000 for medical and dental services, including medical repatriation, funeral services, and COVID-19 coverage. For Health students participating in practical/clinical activities, it must also include civil liability. The insurance must cover the entire stay in Chile, including travel dates, and must be submitted to the incoming mobility coordinator before arriving in Chile.
AmigUSS Program
All exchange students can participate in the AmigUSS program during their first month of classes. Through this program, a USS student will welcome a group of exchange students, assist them during initial activities, campus tours, city exploration, and helpi them integrate culturally into the university life and Chilean culture.
